Mother's Refuge

Education Coordinator

Megan Morrison

Megan Morrison earned her Bachelor's degree in Public Relations in 2008 from Southwest Baptist Univeristy in Bolivar, Missouri. She joined our staff as Public Relations Coordinator in 2008. Her past experience with teenagers and public school teaching made her an excellent candidate to transfer from the office to work directly with our residents as Education Coordinator.

Her responsibilities are to plan and coordinate our Earn As You Learn curriculum, written especially for pregnant teenagers. This practical Life-Skills curriculum provides lessons for our residents that will prepare them for the future. Lessons consist of a wide range of topics such as infant care, parenting, child safety and first-aid, money management and many other necessary life-skills. Megan arranges schedules for our volunteer instructors and class schedules.

She also has the fun job of initiating and coordinating our recreational activities for the girls. She plans trips to area attractions, swimming and exercise at the YMCA, concerts, movies, cultural cuisine dinners, and other activities that are designed to educate and provide positive entertainment. She also assists our case manager in providing care for our residents.

Megan's love for teenagers, her organizational skills and her cheerful personality make her an excellent role-model for the pregnant teenagers that call Mother's Refuge home.
