Missouri Tax Information

If you live in Missouri, you get an added break on state taxes. All gifts of at least $100 given to a Missouri maternity home are eligible for a state tax credit of 50 percent of the total contribution. This is in accordance with the Missouri law, chapter 135, section 135.600.

Here's how it works. If you donate $1,000, you will receive a state tax credit for $500 that can be used on your state income tax any time during a five-year period. This credit is in addition of the $1,000 donation that you normally would deduct on your federal income tax Schedule A itemized deductions.
